He thinks about leaning Carver against the wall so he can strip out of his uniform, but he can feel how tightly Carver is holding onto him. "We're going to take your jacket and shirt off," he tells him. Pope will just have to stand for getting his clothes wet, because he doesn't think Carver can let go of him.
